Meet Achai
The product. The ingredient. The story of Gum Arabic.
A stewardship philosophy rooted in Abyei's ancient relationship between land, water, and the women who have tended both for generations.

Wild harvesting is governed by observation, not extraction. The cooperatives harvest only what the tree offers freely — following seasonal cycles that have been read by women in Abyei for over four generations.
Every jar of Achai traces back to a named cooperative member. The women who harvest are not laborers — they are custodians. Ownership, income, and decision-making flow through them entirely.
Revenue is structured to sustain the community that sustains the forest. A portion of every sale funds cooperative infrastructure, healthcare access, and the education of the next generation of harvesters.
"We do not sell ingredients. We extend an invitation into a living system."— Achai Collection Founding Statement
