Prebiotic Foundation
Gum Arabic is one of the most studied prebiotics in clinical literature. It feeds Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus species — the beneficial bacteria that govern gut immunity, mood, and systemic inflammation.
Ancestral Memory
Human biology evolved alongside this fibre. Populations across the Sahel, Middle East, and East Africa have consumed Gum Arabic for over 4,000 years as a daily wellness staple — not a supplement.
Metabolic Intelligence
Slow-fermenting in the colon, Acacia fibre produces short-chain fatty acids that reduce insulin spikes, support satiety, and protect the gut lining without the bloating associated with synthetic prebiotics.
Seasonal harvest,
ancestral method
The Tapping
Cooperative harvesters make shallow incisions in acacia bark during the dry season. The tree responds by producing gum nodules — a natural protective resin.
The Collection
Dried gum pieces are hand-collected after 6–8 weeks. Only mature nodules are taken. Immature gum is left to continue developing — a practice that ensures the tree's long-term health.
The Processing
Raw gum is cleaned, sorted by grade, and cold-milled into fine powder. No heat treatment. No additives. The entire process preserves the prebiotic fibre structure intact.
The Achai
Cooperative
The Achai Cooperative was founded by Amira Deng and 14 other women from the Ngok Dinka community in Abyei. What began as an informal harvesting collective in 2011 has grown into a structured enterprise with 47 active members.
Every member holds equity. Every sale generates a direct income payment within 30 days. The cooperative controls its own pricing, its own grading standards, and its own relationship with the export market.

Four ways
to integrate
Morning Ritual
Dissolve 1–2 teaspoons in warm (not hot) water. Drink before breakfast. Prebiotic activity is strongest on an empty gut.
Pairs well with lemon or rose water.
In Smoothies
Add 1 tablespoon to any cold blend. Acacia gum emulsifies naturally — it creates a smooth, creamy texture without thickening.
Flavour is neutral to mildly earthy.
As a Food Ingredient
Stir into yoghurt, porridge, or soups. Traditional Sahelian cuisine uses gum arabic as a thickener and binding agent in both sweet and savoury dishes.
Stable at cooking temperatures up to 150°C.
Skincare Application
Mix with rose water or aloe vera gel to form a light film-forming mask. Acacia gum is a traditional skin conditioning agent with documented wound-healing properties.
Suitable for all skin types.
